Karnataka State Chapter is one of the most active & vibrant chapters of the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI). Our motto is "Vayam Sevamahe", meaning "We are for service."
Our History
The chapter was founded in 1982 under the visionary leadership of Dr. AJ Narendran. It started with a small group of dedicated surgeons and has now grown to a strong membership of over 1,800 across Karnataka, including both urban and rural practitioners.
Key Milestones
- The first meeting to establish KSCASI was held at KMC Manipal on 2nd October 1981.
- Dr. A.J. Narendran was elected as the first Chairman (then called President).
- The first formal conference was held at Hubli.
- KSCASI became the first ASI chapter to recognize rural surgeons and provide them reserved seats in the executive committee.
Our Conferences & Events
KSCASI holds its Annual Conference every February for two and a half days, featuring:
- One day of CME (Continuing Medical Education).
- One and a half days of scientific sessions and discussions.

- Two renowned symposia:
- Dr. RB Patil Symposium
